SCSM Publication Submission Guidelines

The Society for Christian Scholarship in Music regularly supports the publication of edited volumes that explore the intersection of music, faith, and theology from a multitude of perspectives.

SCSM invites submissions and ideas for edited volumes that explore topics of music, theology, faith, and the interactions between these subjects.Books supported by SCSM usually have at least two editors. We particularly encourage projects that brings together editors and authors from different disciplines (music, theology, etc.).

If you want to propose a book, please contact the publications committee (markus.rathey@yale.edu) with the following information:

  1. A short description of the topic and focus of the book (about 500 words)
  2. A list of topics or chapters that would be covered in the book (if you have ideas for possible authors, these are welcome as well; however, please do not contact authors at this stage)
  3. Please describe other books on the subject and how your proposed book will distinguish itself from these other publications
  4. Short bios for the editors

If you have questions or comments, please contact the chair of the publications committee, Markus Rathey (markus.rathey@yale.edu)
